You have to remmeber hunting devices are always left to the opinion of the buyer. When i buy a rest i have a few things in mind. think about this the whisker biscuit is made to provide a perfectly stable rest for the arrow to 1. stay in whil sitting and walking, 2. support the arrow as it is being shot.
but one must also consider this, the wisker biscuit is known to slow the arrows speed.

Now for the drop away. its principle is to hold the arrow, then as the arrow is being shot drop out of the way and have no effect on the arrows trajectory or speed.

so now that ive given some basics on the two rests ill tell you my opinion. i prefer the drop away rests because i know when im walking im walking slow and there is no need for the arrow to be "encased" in a rest. and i like the fact that the drop away has no effect on the arrow.

While the WB does slow the arrow down, it is only minimal. I shot the WB for a few seasons and I was pleased with it. I never had any problems with it. I switched to a dropaway to see if I liked it and I cant tell the difference in performance between the 2.
Its all about personal preference. Try them both and see which one you prefer.
Good luck.

its good to see someone comment who has had experience with both rests. What about a whisker biscuit on a youth or ladies bow? those bows generally shoot pretty slow already, do you think they should shy away from the WB?

My fiancee shoots 43# and uses a WB. She shot a doe last year and had great penetration. My 14 year old neighbor shoots the same bow as her and he is shooting with a dropaway. I have shot both bows and I cant tell any difference. Oh, both bows are within 2 pounds of DW, and DL is the same.

One correction that I need to make. There is a small difference between the two. The WB does make a small amount of noise. If you are shooting a low poundage or slower bow on a day with no wind to create rustling leaves or other noise, it might be enough to spook the deer, resulting in a bad shot or a clean miss.
Just something to think about.
